Back on the scene

After several years away, I'm finally back to updating my website. Life took some unexpected turns, and the pandemic, along with the loss of my wife, Chen-Wei Liu, made this pause feel necessary.

Since then, so much has changed that I hardly know where to begin. One of the biggest shifts is that I'm now teaching Orchestration and music for film and games at Oregon State University—a role that challenges and inspires me every day. At the same time, I’ve returned to performing, playing jazz gigs around Los Angeles and reconnecting with the energy of live music.

I’m looking forward to sharing more soon—updates, thoughts, and maybe even stories from the road. It feels good to be back.
